In a heavy downpour, apparently occasioned by Grandma's arrival, Morgan's house floats out of London to the high seas, where Morgan, Grandma, Father, Mother, and the baby cope with pirates, cannibals and kidnappers

About the Author:
Pat Hutchins was born in Yorkshire and educated at Darlington Art School and Leeds College of Art. She worked at J. Walter Thompson advertising agency for two years and then moved to New York for two years with husband, Laurence, where her first book 'Rosie's Walk' was published. She has since has written and illustrated 36 picturebooks and five novels for children. Her work for stage includes'The Curse Of The Egyptian Mummy', 'The Mona Lisa Mystery' and 'The House That Sailed Away'. She now lives in London, and has two sons, Morgan and Sam.
From AudioFile:
One glimpse of this whimsical jacket illustration suggests that nothing ordinary happens within. In fact, the complete impossibility of every story element is its greatest charm. When Morgan, Mother, Dad, Grandma, Tailcat and the Baby sail off for the sea in their London row house, they encounter cannibals, confront a band of pirates led by the bloodthirsty One-Eyed Jake, and recover the missing Crown Jewels. Actress Brigit Forsyth handles the unlikely cast of characters with verve. A delightful Yorkshire accent brings Grandma and her friends to life. Forsyth executes a variety of captivating accents and voicings for the secondary characters, as well, particularly One-Eyed Jake, who goes head-to-head with the high-spirited Grandma. T.B.
