From the artist, Laura Regan: This is the only time that I have illustrated a book with a child in it. I used the son of a friend of mine as a model and it was quite a challenge to pose him with the very playful puppy! The biggest challenge of this project, though, was to portray the brilliance of the sun itself. Because all of the books that I have illustrated focus on the environment, I feel that they are a wonderful way to help to teach young readers about our beautiful but fragile planet. About the Author:

Jean Marzollo is the author of more than sixty children's books, including the ever popular I Spy series, which have sold over a million copies. She lives with her family in Cold Spring, NY.

Laura Regan is best known for her oil paintings of exotic animals in their natural habitats. Her illustrations for children first appeared in Jane Yolen's Welcome to the Greenhouse. She lives with her family on the San Francisco Peninsula.
