Part two covers the chemical principles involved in element distribution in igneous and metamorphic rock systems, the behaviour of elements in these rocks and discusses the uses of isotopes in problems of petrogenesis and ore genesis. Part three deals with the geochemistry of continental and oceanic waters and includes rock - water interaction.
