This report contains the Local Government Commission's final recommendations for the structure of local government in Staffordshire. It represents the culmination of over 12 months' work by the Commission, during which time it received the views of some 66,300 respondents, including voluntary organizations, businesses, parish and town councils, and other local interests. The final proposal is that one unitary authority is established to serve Stoke-on-Trent, with the retention of the two-tier structure elsewhere in the county.
