Chapter 4 provides an appropriate balance between research and the applications. The writing style is very appropriate for the college level. The end of chapter synopsis and learning features are very effective, especially the websites that help to reinforce the chapter.
Paul MacIsaac, Georgian College
The weblinks are a great idea. I like the weblinks as I believe it brings some much needed resources to textbooks. I believe this is a modern way of assisting learners. The end summary [is] well done as it highlighted the chapter. I believe this is a solid chapter [four] on the theories and it does mention more current beliefs in criminality. I believe that this book is current with references to cases in 2005. This is definitely an advantage to the book.

Good use of boxes/ examples. The law and cases discussed are current. All is good.
