Within a RTI delivery model, an integrated approach is taken emphasizing both in-class assessment procedures in addition to more formal, standardized measures and instruments. A practical application approach is reflected throughout the textbook. The key strengths that make Assessment in Special Education an ideal teaching and learning experience include: alignment with one or more professional CEDC assessment standards in every chapter; practical, useful, ready-to-apply material; relevant case studies; and a look at the most current assessment topics.

  • Relevant case studies connect and highlight the material or issues addressed in each chapter.
  • Current assessment topics (e.g., RTI, AimsWeb, technology, grading, evidence-based intervention) are examined in each of the 15 chapters.
