Cameron J. Tsujita
Cameron J. Tsujita was the primary adapter of the 1st Canadian edition of Earth. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Ontario, where he teaches undergraduate courses in general earth sciences and paleontology, conducts research in paleontology, and coordinates geoscience outreach programs. He received his Honours B.Sc. degree in the Department of Geology at the University of Western Ontario, and his Ph.D. degree at McMaster University.
Stephen R. Hicock
Professor Steve Hicock joined the team as co-author of the 2nd Canadian edition. He grew up in Vancouver, BC. He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Geological Sciences at the University of British Columbia, followed by his Ph.D. in Geology at the University of Western Ontario where he works today. Steve’s research travels have taken him to the ends of the Earth, from Greenland to Antarctica. He teaches introductory Geology at Western to hundreds of students during 10 months each year and loves to show them pictures about geology. Fourth-year and graduate courses in glacial geology completed his teaching duties while he critically reviewed a number of introductory textbooks in geology and physical geography. Steve served a term as Chair of the Earth Sciences undergraduate committee and was nominated by his students for TVO’s Best Lecturer competition. He has received teaching awards from OCUFA, Western, and Western’s Faculty of Science, as well as the Faculty of Science Outreach Award.
Ed Tarbuck and Fred Lutgens are the original authors on Earth: An Introduction to Physical Geology. Ed Tarbuck and Fred Lutgens are both of Illinois Central college. They have been good friends and colleagues since 1970. Between them, they have more than 57 years of experience teaching geology to undergraduates and both have been recognized with awards as excellent and inspiring professors. They share a special interest in introducing geology to beginning students and a belief in the value of field experiences for students of all levels.
