Wonderful full page colour and crosshatch illustration in a similar style to that of Sendak. Some pages are cut and shaped to create a 3D effect, and makes the book incredibly interactive and fun for child and adult alike. The contents of the book are clean and free from inscription, but there is a 'Young Critics Prize, Bologna International Book Fair' sticker to the front endpaper and a light tea stain to the back endpaper. The matte pictorial boards are a little bowed and quite grubby, with rubbing to corners and edges but this does not detract from the delightful pastel coloured illustration; a charming book inside and out.
