Thoroughly updated and revised, Michael Aamodt's Third Edition of APPLIED INDUSTRIAL PSYCHOLOGY is even more comprehensive, balanced, and student-friendly than ever. Written in a humorous, personal style, this book offers an applied focus that comprehensively covers the latest theory and research in industrial and organizational psychology. The book's perforated format incorporates exercises that were formerly included in a companion workbook (Industrial/Organizational Psychology in Action), provides students with a complete, integrated learning tool. In addition, you'll now find balanced coverage of the industrial and organizational aspects of I/O Psychology. Throughout the book, Aamodt consistently encourages students to develop skills they may use in the workplace, such as how to improve the validity of checking references, how to write rejection letters, and how to conduct performance evaluations.

Review:
"A balance among theory, data, and application that takes the reader from 'what is known' to 'what it means' to 'how can you use it.' I like this level for my students, most of whom will enter the workforce after college and many of whom are not psychologists. The book manages this balance without becoming a 'human relations' or 'how to help your career' text."

"I would definitely use this book for my course. . . . It is very applied, and it's a readable textbook. I use a lot of the (workbook) exercises during class as participation activities. Students . . . like the activities and they help them to learn the material."
