About the Author:

Hilda L. Jackman is Professor Emerita at Brookhaven College, Dallas County Community College District. Ms. Jackman has worked with children and families for over 40 years in both children's theatre and children's television, and as an educator and consultant. She is the author of several early childhood books, including SING ME A STORY! TELL ME A SONG! CREATIVE THEMATIC ACTIVITIES FOR TEACHERS OF YOUNG CHILDREN (2005), also published by Cengage Learning.

This book offers a great deal of 'real-life' suggestions. Each chapter provides the student with a wealth of ideas on how to improve the classroom experience.

The author's ability to lead readers (very systematically) through the process of curriculum development and implementation is a breath of fresh air. Often text books are not presented in such a systematic manner. Job well done!

The author has created a foundation for early childhood theory in the first few chapters to give meaning to early childhood philosophy.
