DJ has edge wear, one tear in back, one on back side and front top of spine, some tiny chips, darkened spine, clipped bottom inside corner. Owner's name inked on FFP. End papers and pp are VG+, clean and unmarked with b/w frontispiece of Bering, intact fold-out maps, appendix, biblio and index. The manuscript for this book was apparently lost for two hundred years. It is an account of Bering's voyage of discovery that established the position of America in relation to Asia.
