About Astrolabe Booksellers (ANZAAB)
Astrolabe Booksellers is the leading antiquarian/second-hand/used bookseller in Australia's island state, with premises located in Hobart's historic Salamanca Place. Proprietor Michael Sprod is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers - and as such, an affiliate of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. We carry a good range of antiquarian and second-hand books on a wide variety of subjects, specialising in works on Tasmania, Australia, Antarctica, Aborigines (especially Tasmanian), and maritime subjects. There is a link to our own website at the left of this page. This site provides a search service for our stock, subject lists and shows recent catalogues - all with SECURE ordering. We welcome - indeed encourage - direct contact from customers.
We still issue traditional catalogues (a few each year) which can be mailed free of charge, or viewed from our website (an email advises when a new one is posted). We also continue to take requests for those hard-to-find titles, especially in our main areas of interest.

The shipping costs shown here are based on books weighing up to 1 kilogram (2.2 lbs) when (well) packed - or 1.75kg for two books. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. If it is lighter, we will reduce the charge appropriately. Our standard postage should take 14-21 days to get to Europe or North America (shorter for NZ & Asia); Air Mail 7-10 days.
