Description:

Handwritten letter dated January 19, 1874. Front and back of 3 3/4 x 6 1/4 inch paper. George William Curtis (1824-1892) was an American writer, editor and lecturer. He was a member of the Brook Farm Community (1842-1843). He was named editor of "Harper's Weekly" in 1863, although most of the day to day work was done by managing editors. In this letter to a Mr. Morford, Curtis returns some articles that the Editor of Harper's Monthly "regrets that he is unable to use". Bookseller Inventory # 016308
