Title: The Black Book
Publisher: Farrar Straus Giroux
Publication Date: 1994
Book Condition: Very Good
Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good
Edition: 1st Edition
Near Fine in a Near Fine dust jacket. Stated "First Printing" on copyright page. The Nobel Prize winners second novel to be translated into English (after The White Castle) and considered by many to be his best. Some bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The only other flaw noted--and an unfortunate one--is very occasional underlining in pen throughout the text. I located underlining (usually one paragraph or less) on pages 258, 315, 367 & 374. One paragraph was bracketed in the margin in red pen on page 216. Other than these instances the book appears to be free of any other markings or notations. The dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with the original price of $25.00 intact and only very minor shelf-wear. Now protected in a mylar dust jacket. Overall a very attractive copy that presents well despite the infrequent markings in the text. We grade our books very conservatively to insure your satisfaction. Bookseller Inventory # 101207001
