Store Description: Printers Row Fine and Rare Books is located in the Historic Landmark Donohue Building on Printers Row in Downtown Chicago's South Loop District. The Donohue Building was built in 1883, and until 1971 was the National Headquarters of the M.A. Donohue Publishing Company, a well-known publisher of Children's Literature. In 1999 The Printers Row Fine and Rare store-front shop was restored to reflect the shop's original 1883 splendor, and today maintains the appearance of a fine bookshop of the late Victorian period. Completely lined with late 19th Century stained glass fronted bookcases, and with a magnificent fireplace mantle and shelf assembly, the shop is a wonderful centerpiece to the fine arts theme of the Printers Row Historic District.
