2 pieces of campaign literature from the 1910 campaign of Frank Chester Jordan (1860-1940) for Secretary of State of California. One is a printed letter of thanks to those who voted for him in the Republican primary on August 16, 1910. The other is a mock "stock certificate" for "The Society of Good Friends" promising to repay his debt of gratitude with a pledge of good administration upon being elected. He was elected Secretary of State, and served in that capacity until his death, the longest tenure of any California Secretary of State. Bookseller Inventory # 016433
