About Chanticleer Books, ABAA

We are located just off the eastern corner of the historic Sonoma Plaza in downtown Sonoma. Chanticleer Books is a general shop specializing in rare and collectable books in many fields, including California History, Western Americana, Jack London, Art & Design, Travel & Exploration, Food & Wine, et al. Chanticleer Books is owned and operated by Steve Blackmer, a full-time bookseller since 1985 and member of the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of America (ABAA) since 1998. Our store hours can fluctuate, but currently we are open Wednesday - Sunday, from 11 - 5:30; please call to confirm times if you’re making a special trip. We encourage your visit.

Terms of Sale

Guarantee: All books are guaranteed as described and may be returned for any reason within 10 days of receipt.
Payment: Orders are payable in US$ by credit card (Visa and MasterCard only), PayPal, personal check, or money order. Libraries may request invoicing.
Reciprocal terms to the book trade.
California residents will be charged 8.25% sales tax

Shipping Terms:

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. US orders are shipped BY Priority Mail, Media Mail, OR UPS ($5-$12 on most single title orders).
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE: Foreign orders are shipped at cost. International surface mail is not offered by the US Postal Service; all orders are shipped by air. We utilize the $25.00 Priority Mail International flat-rate mailer (4 lbs maximum weight) when we can adequately protect the book within. Oversize books will in most cases cost a minimum of $50.00 to ship overseas. The ABE default shipping rates are based on orders for 1 book at a maximum weight of 2.2 pounds. In many cases (large books, sets, insurance) this does not reflect the actual shipping cost. We will request additional shipping compensation through the Abebooks system when necessary.
