Collection of black and white photographs and shooting metal. The collection consists of: Carte de viste photograph of Clarence, age three months. Photo by H.C. Rising, Indianapolis, Indiana. Tape removal an paper from being mounted in an album has obscured much of the photographer's information on back. Cabinet card photograph showing Clarence at age nine standing and holding a rifle. H.C. Rising, Lafayette Ind. Tape and tape removal on back. Medal: "Champion of Indiana, Competitor Not Born Earlier Than 1882." Eagle atop scroll which is attached to a circular medal with guns and the background. Cabinet card photograph, showing Clarence at about age 10 or 11, wearing the above medal, standing holding a rifle, with another rifle leaning against logs to his left. H.C. Rising, Lafayette Indiana. Tape removal scruff on bottom front, not affecting image, but partially obscuring photographer's logo. Tape along top, extending into background of image about 1/8 of an inch. Photograph, 1 1/2 X 6 inches, showing the front of and back of medal: "Shooting festival, Columbian International." No photographer's name. Fine. Photograph, 5 X 6 3/4 inches, showing montage of Clarence's nine different trick shots. Titled in the center of the photo "Clarence E. Long, Age 10 Yrs., 'The Hoosier Boy Rifle Shot, Lafayette, Ind. After spending the last year of his life bedridden, Clarence died at the age of 14 of what was listed then as "consumption."
