Synopsis:
A traditional yet accessible calculus book with a strong conceptual and geometric slant. Using the language and notation of vectors and matrices to clarify the analogy between concepts in single- and multivariable calculus, this book provides a greater challenge than the multivariable material typically found in calculus books. The book offers flexibility for readers by presenting topics not usually found in a book at this level. It incorporates more than 500 diagrams and figures that connect analytic work to geometry and assist with visualization. It stresses mathematical rigor, but presents technical derivations at the ends of sections. Proofs are available for reference, but positioned so as to not interfere with the main flow of ideas.
