Plate volumes with separate titles and preliminaries where called for: engraved plates as follows, many are fold-outs, several with repaired folds -- Vol. I (22); Vol. II. (93); Vol. III. (73, plus one bis plates, plate 69 out of order); Vol. IV (51 with two different versions of plate 49, actually 52); Vol. V. (85); Vol. VI. (86-136). Plate count coincides with Fowler collation, save for extra plates cited here. FOWLER 51. Pierre Patte (1723-1812) who completed this work after the death of Blondel was one of his most loyal pupils and himself an important author.This work, rich in material of great interests to the students of this period became the standard handbook of its day.It is popularly known as the `Petit Blondel'.Blondel stands unrivaled, and his works remain to this day the most complete and authoritative account ever given of modern classical architecture." Early owner inscription Vol. I free endpaper in Balto-Slavonic language, extremity wear, a bit more on plate volumes, but all bindings tight interior contents generally clean, black and red spine labels on text volumes.
