Book Description Southwest Press, Dallas, TX, 1934. Hard Cover. Book Condition: Reading Copy. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. First Edition. Reading copy--priced accordingly. This 418 page book contains a wealth of rare information regarding the early immigration of the Czechoslovakian settlers of the past, plus the history of Czechoslovakia through the centuries. ALTHOUGH ALL PAGES ARE CLEAN AND READABLE, the book has somehow been water damaged, with the following results. wavy pages, a bleeding of pink coloration on the OUTER page edges (possibly from the maroon coloring of the endpapers which contain a map and a list of settlers names, or the deep mauve coloring of the spine area of the boards); a small number of pages in the front Prologue have loosened from the strings in the binding. The boards appear unaffected and are in very good condition. Dust jacket has chips, tears and rub. Back cover statement: "Here is a well-written and fascinating story of what the Czech settlers of the past and the Czech citizenship of today have done and are still doing to build up the State of Texas." Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 011624
