Publisher: Bowen, IL: Bruce Morton Studios, 2013

Binding: Soft cover

Book Condition: Fine

Dust Jacket Condition: None, As Issued

Description:

1st Printing. Signed. 110 pages. Published in 2013. Collection of color photographs. One of the most beautiful photography books of its kind ever published. Limited Edition of 50 numbered and signed copies. Precedes and should not be confused with the Second Edition, which is regular trade edition only. Published as a softcover original only that sold out upon publication. There is no ISBN. The Limited Edition is now rare. An austerely elegant production by Bruce Morton: Oversize-volume format in wide oblong shape. Brown softcovers with titles on the cover and spine, as issued. Photographs and text by Bruce Morton. Essay by Aline Smithson. Printed on pristine-white, thick coated stock paper in Chicago to the highest standards. Without DJ, as issued. Presents, in its Limited Edition format, Bruce Morton's "Forgottonia". The latter refers to his childhood and current home, Bowen, Illinois, where he grew up. Like many ambitious young men, he eventually left and then returned for good, mainly to devote himself to photographing the place before it finally disappears, a very old (and prestigious) photographic calling. "I am excited to be back with new eyes. This book is a story about the life cycle of those who live, love, and die here" (Bruce Morton). If so, they have it good. It's the Good Life. An absolute "must-have" title for Bruce Morton collectors. This is a copy of the Limited Edition of 50 numbered and signed copies, indicated as such on the title page, and it is very prominently, neatly, and beautifully signed in pencil by Bruce Morton. It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. This title is now collectible. As far as we know, this is the only copy of the Limited Edition available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a pristine beauty. Please note: It should NOT be confused with the Second Edition, which is a regular trade edition only. A rare signed copy thus. Lavishly illustrated with color plates. One of the most brilliant photographers of our time. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER BRUCE MORTON TITLE IN OUR CATALOG). Bookseller Inventory # 19790
