Original tan cloth with brown lettering and green designs on the front cover and spine. 5 1/2 X 8 1/4 inches. 260 pages which include 7 pages of an informal bibliography and 4 pages of index. Copy has 6 black and white illustrations. Peattie (1898-1964) was an American botanist, naturalist and author. He has been "described as perhaps the most widely read of all contemporary American nature writers of his heyday". Copy comes with a brown and green dust jacket with white lettering on front cover and spine. Dust jacket has a few worn spot, however copy is very clean and complete. Binding is tight.
