Les Fleurs du mal is a volume of French poetry by Charles Baudelaire. First published in 1857, it was important in the symbolist and modernist movements. The subject matter of these poems deals with themes relating to decadence and eroticism. Comes with dust jacket that has creasing, small chips and closed tears, held together on the backside securely with tape and now in mylar. This is the only copy that we have come arcoss that still has its dust jacket. First edition thus. Godwin books from the "Famous Classics of Love" series vanishd eduring the age of the Commuter Library. Beautiful illustrations by Beresford Egan in color and black and white. Extremely scarce.
