Title: The Founding of the First California ...
Publisher: Nueva California Press / San Francisco
Publication Date: 1934
Book Condition: Very Good
Dust Jacket Condition: Good
Edition: Limited Edition
A limited edition of 1,000 copies. Dark grey boards with pasted on front and spine labels, the only flaw somewhat wrinkled lower corners. The front pastedown is missing a small triangle at the bottom, with light damage to the corresponding spot on the first page; this looks like glue damage at the bindery. The spine of the light rust colored dust jacket has faded: the jacket edges are worn, with several quarter inch chips at the upper rear and a short tear at the front. A $2.50 price on the rear has been crudely inked over to read $3.50. Except for owner's name on pastedown, the interior is clean and unmarked. An attractively designed book, printed on quality cream paper with a fronts portrait of Fray Junipero Serra and a double spread map at the rear. Following a brief introduction, the remaining text consists of writings and letters by Junipero Serra and his fellow missionaries. 124 pages, 8.25' x 11.25". [M]. Bookseller Inventory # N00005
