Funeral book of notable Cambridge, Md. and Dorchester County leading citizen of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Edward Pink. Pink was a founder, along with his brother Rober, of Cambridge Wire Cloth (1911 - currently Cambridge International) Square Tight Binding with scuf to front cover where it appears a label of some sort was wiped away. Laid in are newspaper articles and a 3-page typed eulogy from a local fraternal organization signed by members. "Edward Pink, an Estey Wire Works in New York employee since 1886, became the general superintendent of the Cambridge facility when the company expanded in 1911. Four years later, Edward Pink and his brother, Robert Pink, made an agreement with Estey to create Cambridge Wire Cloth. Thomas Edison was one of Cambridge Wire Cloth's first customers in 1917. She said Edison had a plant that made phenol, an acid used in the manufacturing of phonograph records, and CWC supplied Edison's phenol plant with wire cloth. In the early 1920s, the company expanded their customer base to the Mid-Atlantic region and CWC began producing a spiral woven wire belt. The lehr belt, designed for high temperature ovens, became a primary product line in the mid-1920s.CWC survived the Great Depression in the 1930s with the introduction of stainless steel, the production of wire mesh as filters, the continuing push for industry and the support of a local bank that paid 25 percent of employee wages during that time.".
