Established in Sydney, Australia, in 1967, Gould’s Book Arcade has over 75,000 books listed, mostly non-fiction. Some are quite rare, including many pamphlets. We specialise in out of print books, publishers’ remainders of the last 40 years, and second hand books, catering to the general reader, students and some specialist areas. We have been located near Sydney University for over 20 years, and have bought many collections from retiring academics. Parking is easy, our shop is large and highly visible, and we have a high public profile, leading many members of the general public to sell to us. We attend all major book fairs. Australian history and politics and Australiana are our main specialty areas. The collection on labor movement and progressive politics is the broadest in Australia, and stands up well by international standards, covering Australia but also other countries. There are big sections on Sports & Hobbies, Military History, General History, Poetry, Plays, Movies, Science, Philosophy, and all areas of human interest and endeavour. Our listed books are not on the public access shelves, though duplicates might be. Shipping Terms:

Orders usually ship within 3 business days, unless Express or Courier services are requested. We have needed to streamline our postage and packing in order to gain the efficiencies that bookshops need to survive in these difficult times. Surplus postage refunds will be given when there is a dramatic saving, for instance if we are able to pack the item as a medium weight letter. For overweight books, we may apply for extra postage, but mostly only for international customers. For domestic customers we have struck an average price, where the lighter items very slightly subsidise the heavier items. Please email us if you would like more details.
