Nevins says of this great regiment: "One of the better regimental histories; composed for the most part of letters and diary excerpts by serveral members of the unit; covers fully the Eastern campaigns beginning with McClellan’s advance up the Peninsula." The regiment was a 2nd Corps unit. Written in two parts a unit history and a full roster. Black and white photos of some of the unit, the author was the regimental doctor.
