First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 237 pps., forty-nine spectacular hunting photographs. A fine, tight, unmarked copy in a good + dust jacket with rubbing, minor tears and some creases with no missing sections. SIGNED BY DALE D. LEE and inscribed to his friend Gary Sanders, a fellow hound raiser and hunter. This book is part of a large archive, offered here, of Dale Lee items. Of major importance in this archive is a one of a kind cassette tape with a hand written note by Dale Lee, recorded by him especially for his friend Gary Sanders. In the tape Dale Lee (1908-1988) talks about his mother and father, his brothers and sister, and of course his hounds and lion, bear, and jaguar hunting. He also speaks about his home in the Chiricahua mountains in southeastern Arizona and the rules of life he followed. It's a thrill and honor to hear him speak again in his slow Texas drawl! This archive also contains large, lion and jaguar hunt photographs, letters, Lee Brothers Guides stationary, Dale Lee's business card, reproductions of the Arizona Daily Star, Sports Extra article announcing his passing, a pristine July, 1985 copy of Full Cry magazine with Dale Lee on the cover, newspaper clippings, a 1958 pristine copy of Game Trails produced by the Jonas Bros. "master taxidermists" in Denver, a 1950 magazine article by J. Frank Dobie about legendary tracker Ben Lilly, and a reproduced two page advertisement with fourteen captioned E.E.Lee & Brothers photographs from 1953. The archive also contained several books from Dale Lee's library, they are being listed separately by us. Dale Lee was a legendary Arizona hunter and guide, he was certainly one of a kind. They don't make em like him anymore! In his introduction to this book the author, Robert McCurdy, says of Dale Lee "There's only one other man I can think of who compares to Dale in the ability to track an animal. That man was Ben Lilly, and for those who don't know of him, his life has been recorded, although somewhat stretched and glorified, in The Ben Lilly Legend by J. Frank Dobie." Certainly, well deserved praise for Dale Lee. If you love the great outdoors, hunting and hunting dogs and remember Dale D. Lee this extremely scarce book, unique cassette tape, and archive are treasures. To the potential buyer, we guarantee this to be the only copy of this tape in our possession. There absolutely will not be any other copies produced by us!. Signed by Author(s). Bookseller Inventory # 002308
