436 and 524 pages. Leonard, an Army surgeon, was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor during the Army campaign against Geronimo. He was personal physician to Grover Cleveland and William McKinley; organized the Rough Riders during the Spanish American war; and served in the Philippines and then trained soldiers during the First World War. First edition (first printing). One of 115 sets on special paper, signed by Wood on a tipped in sheet--a flyleaf from a book with his ownership signature. Both volumes fine with paper-covered boards and a cloth spine (slightly darkened). A very nice set. Bookseller Inventory #
