[44 p.] This book was published by one in a long line of quilt makers, seamstresses, hat makers, etc. She tells of her own quilt-making and that of her forebears, and of the story of the Sunbonnet girl and Sunbonnet quilts and lore in America's history. The Sunbonnet Babies were derived from Kate Greenaway's drawings of Victorian children; there was a Sunbonnet Primer at the turn of the century (18th to 19th), and the cute little figure was popular not just as a quilt pattern but is represented in many homemade toys and crafts, on post cards, decorating children's dishware, in other books, etc. Glossy stapled cardboard covers, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"), fine full-color photographs on every page (including some family photos). The booklet pictures many quilts (with attribution to the makers, etc.), describes how to appliqué, and includes a source list for quilting supplies and a bibliography. Dedicated to Ms. Brew's mother-in-law and inscribed "Enjoy, Jean Brew, 1996" inside the front cover. Perfect condition. Bookseller Inventory # 09JB15
