Wheatley, Dennis. THE MALINSAY MASSACRE. London: Hutchinson, 1938. First Edition. Publisher's original tan boards in BETTER THAN VERY GOOD condition for this fragile publication which still retains its original red ribbon (FINE and unfrayed). There is some creasing, one corner with a small piece torn, a little soiling, stray marks, but the oversized volume is still square and not crushed like most examples. Third in a series of four charming and innovative 1930s murder mystery novels which are filled with facsimile clues much as a detective might find them: incriminating telegrams, police reports, crime scene photographs, a mysterious torn label, "newspapers" through which one must root out clues, all the stuff of great imagination. Best of all, the final chapter has been sealed so that the book's purchaser must tear it open to reveal the name of the killer. THIS IS A COPY WITH THE SEAL STILL INTACT. Nice eye appeal and a good survival considering this item is the SIZE of a coffee table book (9" by 11")!. Bookseller Inventory # 001059
