Early decorative paper over boards, backed in leather; 4to (205 x 250 mm); pp. 4, 85, 5. Binding worn with some loss of the paper covering on the covers; stitching loose, with contents (essentially) disbound; clean tear entering the text in the last ten leaves or so; apparently missing final blank. A rare Hebrew work on the sciences that includes the first exposition of Newtonian physics in Hebrew, by a Hebrew scholar and medical practitioner who worked in England and Sweden. Schnaber studied medicine in England with Dr. John Hunter and was later appointed physician to the Duke of Portland, before becoming a Professor of Medicine at the University of Uppsala.
