This novel is about a young drug addict and his daily encounters as he pursues his eternal quest for the means to support his habit. Algren (1909-1981) was an American writer, best known for his novel "The Man With The Golden Arm" for which was adapted into a film in 1955. This copy comes with a later state dust jacket.
