Title: Mastering the Art of French Cooking Volume ...
Publisher: New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1970
Publication Date: 1970
Dust Jacket Condition: Dust Jacket Included
Edition: 1st Edition
First edition. 554 p. plus liv (index). This is the book you must have if your menu plan is for Cochon de Lait, Farci a la Trebizonde; Courgettes Farcies aux Amandes; and Mille-feuilles. Actually, this famous cook book from the famous cook Julia Child has the names of dishes and some other information in both French and English, but it is, of course, basically in English. It has helpful drawings based on photographs by Paul Child, Julia's husband; he also contributed technical drawings. The index is to Volumes One and Two. Small quarto (10" x 7 1/4"), decorated cream, blue, and orange hard cover (the finish appears to be washable) with bright orange endpapers. The book is very near fine with bumps at the head and foot of spine. The dust jacket is present with its original price, but it is quite battered, splitting, and missing a large chunk of the back; it is enclosed in an acid-free mylar jacket to preserve what remains. The book is thick and very heavy; shipping out of the U.S. will require additional postage. Bookseller Inventory # 123114JC
