The two volumes bound together as issued. (i-vii), 1-244, (i-xvi), (i-iv), 1-70.First edition in English, translated by George Bridges. Wing R1867, R1865. Full leather binding, newer spine and some leather has been pieced onto the front cover. Hole and small tear on front fly leaf. Some underlining and notes in text, but very readable. Clean, tight copy. Henri de Rohan (1579-1638), Duke of Rohan and Prince of Leon, was a French soldier, writer and leader of the Huguenots, members of the Protestant Reformed Church in France. These memoirs, first published in France in 1644, deal mainly with the civil wars between the Royalist and the Huguenots during the reign of Louis XIII. Bookseller Inventory # 016741
