This FIRST EDITION is in VERY GOOD condition, especially at over 80 years old! Subtitle: "A Medley of Prose and Verse for Boys and Girls. Book has copyright 1924 at bottom of title page. Book is wonderfully illustrated with 8 original full color (approx 4" x 5" to 5" x 6") plates tipped in on hard grey stock pages, plus black & white illustrations within text, and some full pages. Color plates are in Very Good + to Near Fine condition. Two plates have very tiny creases to one bottom corner of plate and last print has four parallel triangular creases to bottom left corner (5/8" x 2.5"). Book is in VERY GOOD condition with beige cloth binding with repeated blue pattern of winged animals and floral patterns and blue lettering in blank beige text block on top 1/4 of front board. Book's spine is sunned and spine tips and corners are gently bumped but not worn or frayed. There is mild rubbing and soiling to boards and the blue pattern is often mildly worn near board's edges. Soiling is more evident on blank beige back board. Endpapers have same pattern as boards in dark blue on white. Book's binding and insides are relatively tight, bright, clean and unmarked. Both endpaper hinges are solid. NO previous owner's or library markings. There is light foxing/yellowing around a few page's edges. No Dustwrapper. Color plates tipped in are by Allen, Monsell, Harrow, Chesterman, Nightingale, Miller.
