Bibliographic Details

Title: Nigga in the Woodpile: A Ran and Commentary

Publisher: [Serendipity Books] (2008), (Berkeley)

Publication Date: 2008

Binding: Ephemera

Book Condition: Fine

Signed: Signed By Author

Edition: First Edition.

Description:

8 leaves plus cover sheet. Phillips is the author of Mojo Hand, a freqently reprinted 1966 novel. This poem was submitted to an online journal edited by Ishmael Reed, but it was published with each line centered, while Phillips had particular ideas about the alignment of the lines. This publication includes the poem as published, the poem as Phillips wanted it published, and her commentary. Published in an edition of 10 sets of signed and numbered loose sheets 'bound' with a paperclip (asi issued). There were 150 later copies printed by the Poltroon Press. OCLC records 8 copies of that edition and none of this. First edition (first printing). A fine copy. Signed by the author. Bookseller Inventory # 130287
