Five volumes. Complete. 2nd edition of volume 1-3 (pub. 1788); 1st edition of volume 4 (1788) & 5 (1791). Contemporary leather binding with marbled boards, gilt lettering on the spine. Some cracking along the joints of the spines and minor missing chips to the tops of the spines. Inscribed on the front flyleaf "Gift of Frederick Mansell to his daughter Caroline, 1835". Richard Cumberland (1732-1811) was a English dramatist and civil servant under the Earl of Halifax during the latter half of the 18th century. The five volume set is a collection of his writings.
