Inscribed by the author to his son: "To Louis, with his father's love. July 17, 1892." (Also signed in 1905 by William Winter's daughter Viola Winter Stilson). An early inscription, since BAL notes that the book was deposited for copyright July 18, 1892. Literary travel in England, Scotland and the United States. William Winter was America's leading theatre cirtic and also was a poet and travel writer. 296 pages, plus advertising section of other books by Winter (Old Shrines and Ivy listed as "In the Press").
