Description:

Original Cabinet Card Photograph (4 1/4 x 6 1/2 inch) of Jeremiah Ayers (1831-1922) who was born in New Hampshire and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1858. He married Anna Rae (1841-1923). For a while he was Professor of Latin and Greek at Western University of Pennsylvania (University of Pittsburg). He also established the Ayers Latin School in Pittsburg. Later moving to Colorado in the 1870s, he took up realestate development and ranching and also served as a Trustee of Colorado College. Fine clean copy. Bookseller Inventory # 11668
