Synopsis: Some cats just get into everything! Kittenhood for PK (Porch Kitty) as runt of the litter on a Washington apple orchard, begins with an attempt to "catnap" her to Mexico to settle a personal dispute. In her own words, PK leads us through her development from a fetus in a crowded womb through growth encounters with Vets, vacuum cleaners and fish ponds. Life with humans, from a young cats point of view, is tender, confusing and hilarious. Love and fortitude are her constant companions as she learns to manage life as custodian of a B&B front porch in Chelan, Washington.. Her Uncle Elvis and svelte neighbor Araby lead her into circumstances which call upon her bravery and resourcefulness. Adventures abound in the Seattle Underground (murder), and the Holden Village wilderness retreat center (theft, conspiracy, and a squirrel revolt). In unpredictable spells, PK relives some of her nine lives. She is surprised to learn she was an Egyptian Cat Goddess, Revolutionary War participant, Buccaneer, and companion to an accused Salem Witch. In an attempt to come to grips with her persistent feelings of being runt of the litter, PK finally returns to the orchard of her birth where she witnesses the murder of her friend Jesse. Justice and family status are in a tension that could break a cats heart. "Written with a sly wit and gentle sense of humor, these cat tales will captivate people of all ages. PK's escapades wander into fantasy, yet I found myself believing that she really could solve crimes and rescue people. Playful, imaginative, and entertaining!" Patricia Nikolina Clark, author of 'Fisherman's Daughter' and 'In the Shadow of the Mammoth'.
