Description:

1st Printing. 1 pages. Published in 2007. Rare "Port"-"Royal" mini-CD release. Limited Edition of 222 numbered copies. A brilliant production by "Port"-"Royal" and Pascaline Knight: Pocket-sized format. The CD measures 3 inches and can be played on a regular CD player (by being placed in the center). Music by "Port"-"Royal". Encased in inner protective plastic sheet. Cardboard case with stunningly beautiful artwork by Pascaline Knight on the cover, as issued. Presents the hypnotic, cutting-edge, and sublime music of the idiosyncratically inventive Italian group. The band insists on its name being spelled in lower case, with a dash, and quotation marks precisely because it subverts existing computer software programs that take control of your writing/spelling options: "port"-"royal". If you really love their music, the least you can do is oblige, with your integrity intact. There are five tracks, including two remixes: "Stasi", "The Beat of the Tiger", "Song of Megaptera", "Zobione pt. 1" (Landing remix), and "Zobione pt. 2" (Millimetrik Arctic remix). "Port"-"Royal" bids to be the future of rock. The Genoa-based post-rock band was formed in 2000 by Attilio Bruzzone (guitar and keyboards) and Ettore Di Roberto (piano). They were eventually joined by Michele Di Roberto (drums), Emilio Pozzolini (keyboards, sampling), and Giulio Corona (bass). Like the ambient nature of their music, the band itself is fluid, with the members working off and on, and in collaboration with other groups, as they do in this CD. Only Attilio Bruzzone, Ettore Di Roberto, and Emilio Pozzolini were involved in the present CD. Sieva Diamantakos joined the band in 2007 while Michele Di Roberto and Corona have since left, in 2005 and 2008 respectively. Their music starts out as fully written songs, of which some will form the melodic basis of the final track while others are discarded altogether. Celebrated for their unique approach to music, they have an ardent global cult following. This is dazzling music, blending primordial dynamics with state-of-the-art electronic sound. An absolute "must-have" item for "port"-"royal" and contemporary music lovers/collectors. This copy is one of the Limited Edition, indicated/numbered as such on the inside limitation in black pen: "151/222". This title sold out upon release and is now collectible. This is the only copy available online (it is no longer available from the band's website) and has no flaws, a pristine beauty. A rare copy thus. One of the most brilliant post-rock bands of our time. A flawless copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER "PORT"-"ROYAL" TITLE IN OUR CATALOG). Bookseller Inventory # 14575
