Publisher: Lowman and Hanford
Publication Date: 1905
Book Condition: Very Good
Edition: First Edition.
Seattle, 1905. 8vo, blue cloth, 555 pp. A fairly well preserved copy of this rather uncommon early history of the Pacific Northwest. Meeker, the first mayor of Puyallup, Washington, made his way westward from Iowa via the Oregon Trail. Meeker sat on the jury for Chief Leschi's first trial (being one of two people who believed him innocent of wrongdoing), and he considered his eventual hanging to be a tragedy. Binding somewhat shaken, contents generally excellent, very good minus condition overall. Attractive and sound. Bookseller Inventory # 15044
