Philadelphia, 1834. 12mo, publisher's cloth, 244 pp. An uncommonly well-preserved copy of the first edition, in very good condition with some intermittent foxing to contents, normal wear to boards and some rubbing with loss to title label on spine. A biographical account of the author's early life in what was then considered the West. Brackenridge was the son of the writer and judge Hugh Henry Brackenridge, and would later become a Congressman from Pennsylvania. Quite scarce in its original binding.
