1st Printing. Signed. 42 pages. Published in 2004. Exhibition Catalog. The first and only edition. Published in a tiny print run as a softcover original only. There is no ISBN. The Catalog is now rare. The book is beautifully produced, with selections of Sol LeWitt's recent artworks, an Essay by Emily Braun that traces LeWitt's new work all the way back to Giotto, and printed on pristine-white, thick coated stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. Without DJ, as issued. Published on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Katonah Museum of Art in 2004. Presents "Sol LeWitt: Recent Work". The latter is a triumphant and radical departure from the rigorous, grid-based Minimalist and Conceptual art Sol LeWitt is identified with and for which he remains revered. Instead, LeWitt has created a massive, site-specific wall drawing and supplemented it with gouaches, maquettes for his "Dome" structures, and "Equivalent", a portfolio of twelve prints that he created in collaboration with the photographer Sachiko Cho. What, if any, unifies such a diverse and seemingly unrelated body of work? Ever the Conceptual artist, his response is: "The common denominator is my mind" (Sol LeWitt). A window into a great artist's evolution and growth in late career. An absolute "must-have" title for Sol LeWitt collectors. This copy is very prominently and beautifully signed, placed, dated, and inscribed in black ink-pen on top of the title page by the artist: "Sol LeWitt Chester, CT July 31, 2005". It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. The recipient is named. This title is now collectible. As far as we know, this is the only such signed copy available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a pristine beauty. Please note: Sol Lewitt does NOT do public signings. This signed copy was obtained directly in person through his art gallery. A rare signed copy thus. Lavishly illustrated with color plates. One of the greatest living American artist/photographers. A fine collectible copy. Bookseller Inventory #
