Book Description Thomas C. Russell, at His Private Press, San Francisco, California, 1922. Hard Cover. Book Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First, Limited Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First, limited edition, number 138 of 200 copies on Exeter paper, from a total edition of 450 copies, signed by the publisher. Near fine in near fine dustjacket. Series of personal letters from the Gold Rush period, reproduced here with eight hand colored tissue protected plates, with additional commentary by the publisher. Grayish blue hardcover with tan linen cloth spine, paper spine label, several pages printed with decorative headers and other elements in blue, 350 pages plus colophon, grayish blue dustjacket with paper spine label and gilt lettering and design on front panel. The book has effectively no wear, tight binding, one plate neatly detached but present with very minor wear to its top edge, very clean pages with no names or other markings, a few imperfections to the lovely and probably handmade Exeter book-paper visible in margins. The mylar protected dustjacket has a very tiny chip to the spine head, otherwise about fine. Bookseller Inventory # 031172
