About the Author: Louis Weirter (Whirter) 1873-1932. Was born in Edinburgh, studied at the Royal Scottish Academy as well as in Paris. He was one of the original member of the Scottish Society of Artists, known as an inventor and for his architectural paintings plus ethings, but he was best known for his war paintings which were influenced through being a baloonist in the air-borne observational group, primary as an artistist observer during the Great War in France. It was here that he witnest Billy Bishop's (Canadian air ace) daring exploits on 2nd June 1917. Among his works are posters, post cards, and illustrated many books.Louis Weirter passed away at home in Onslow Gardens, South Kensington London on 12 of January 1932. He was brother inlaw of the great Thomas Adams from Carlops who's garden cities grace some of the Great City's of the World.
