This is a textbook of manual for junior and field grade officers on leading small units in action from patrols to regiments. The book uses an exercise scenario based around Gettysburg. The actions are all based on a movement of action. There is no reference to the trench warfare of WWI which had been going on for over a year in Europe. This copy was issued to Company B, 13th Infantry from Fort Mills, in the Philippines Islands on 6 Feb 1916. The 13th Infantry spent WWI on duty in the Philippines. Includes 2 seperate stand alone maps centered around Gettysburg. Good copy of the soft bound first edition. The treated green canvas cover has some cracks in it. 230 pages. Seller Inventory # 36349
