Assigned to San Xavier del Bac he made 3 trips to the Gila River and one trip continued to the Coloradao river. On his fourth and final trip he traveled with Anza to the colorado river where he seperated and traveled up the river to mohave and accross to San Gabriel and then to Tulare and then he returned to the Colorado River and continued to the hopi villages before returning to San Xavier. He later accompanied the settlers to the Colorado river to establish a Spanish settlement. He was killed there in the Yuma Indian uprising in 1781.
